Let me describe my situation.

A couple of years ago, I built a low power, compact PC that would effectively take on the role of a server, hosting TeamSpeak and various game servers for myself and a group of friends. Since then, I have purchased an R720 so no longer have a use for this PC.

When I built it, the aim was for it to be as compact as possible. It was built on a Thin Mini-ITX board in a very small case.

The case I have is the following:

It literally just fits everything in it. I've got 16GB RAM and an i5-4690S. This makes it a fairly capable machine for gaming, ignoring the lack of GPU for now.

My main gaming rig is obviously way better and I have no intention of changing this. That said, I attend a lot of LAN events and it's a PITA to lug around. I would like to utilise this PC and a GPU, VESA mounted to a spare monitor, and use that at LANs as it will be plenty capable.

I have the following board:

It has a single 'mPCIE' slot that I could use for a GPU. I suppose this thread is two questions. Firstly, how would I interface a gaming capable GPU here, secondly, any case recommendations that would remain compact but allow a full sized GPU and VESA mount.

Furthermore, how would I power the GPU? The motherboard has an external power brick, not a standard ATX supply.

That mini slot is only x1, while you can run a GPU on it, its not suited for gaming.
Even if you used an external GPu, you would have to lug around the external pc power supply as well as the cabling.

IMO, sell the board and the case, and rebuild with suitable components.
