VG248QE can't get 144hz

Hi. For some reason I can't get my monitor to display at 144hz. I'm using an r9 280x card and a DVI dual-port cable, which is plugged into the correct port on the card. The card's driver is updated. There is no option above 60hz via the windows display option. When I use the AMD Radeon software to make a custom display, and I enter 144hz, it says that it is not compatible with the display.

It’s been a while since I built it, and I can double check in the morning, but I think it’s a sapphire.

Ok. Some cards of that generation have one Single-Link DVI port and one Dual-Link DVI port for some reason; if you have 2 DVI ports on your card, make sure you try both of them.

Yeah, I did. The bottom one is the dual link.
