vga approx total memory

when i open dxdiag i find that gtx 970 approx total memory 3730 shouldn't it be 4 gb ?

Need more details. Can you post a screenshot of what you're looking at in dxdiag?

that sounds about 3.5GB yes which is the amount that almost all programs see a GTX 970 having as the last 512MB was on another part of L2 inside the GPU that was turned off in the GTX 970s to see more about what i am talking about google nVidia GTX 970 articles and you should get alot on why the GTX 970 only "sees " itself as having 3.5GB instead of 4GB even though yes there is 4GB there only 3.5GB is going to be used by games and other programs without the CUDA programming specifically calling for it to be used but it is there.

ok wasn't what I was meaning but I think yumri already has it with the 3.5gb and 0.5gb memory allocations on the gtx 970.
