VGA does not work wih my desktop!

My VGA cable is not working properly, I turn on my computer it displays just fine and then minutes later it says No VGA cable, if I turn off and on my computer it starts again and does the same thing, I connected the VGA cord to my laptop and it worked just fine, any suggestions?

Looks like your VGA plug on the desktop is giving up.
