VGA-HDMI connection problem

Hello,
Im trying to connect my laptop to my tv but I always get the "no signal" message.
I'm using a VGA (laptop) - HDMI (tv) cable, thanks.

Thats a HDMI-2-VGA and if your laptop only has HDMI out, then that will work.

Just a single VGA to HDMI cable? VGA on one end, HDMI on the other? If so, those are junk and won't work. There's no active conversion taking place.

No, that one wont work. They're not bi-directional. That adapter is HDMI "out" to VGA "in" (so if your laptop had HDMI and your monitor had VGA).

You need one that specifically states VGA to HDMI and "active".

I can't find anything specifically listed as such on the given website. Where are you lcoated, specifically? (ie country)
