VGA Laptop to HDMI TV not working!

Simply I connect my vga hp laptop to hdmi philips TV. It used to work but now it decided not to work anymore! What am I doing wrong?
I want to add that my laptop recognizes the TV through the graphic card setting but cannot detect it through the display settings!

Any help would be appreciated cause this issue is driving me nuts!!

Try the hotkey WinKey + P to select which display is active. Best bet is to select Duplicate.

Thanks for the response but its not that! I do have it as a Duplicate screen. The amazing thing is last week it worked with no issues!! I am thinking that it might be an update of the graphic card that happened overnight! Cannot think of anything else!

Try rolling back the Display Adapter driver...
right-click Start Menu and select Device Manager
click Display Adapter
right-click Name of Graphic Card and select Properties
under the Driver tab select Roll Back Driver
