VGA monitor on a GTX 1070?

Hello. So I'm currently running a 7950 and I'll be replacing it with a gtx 1070, but i've recently found out(and I had my doubts on release when I saw the ports on the back of the card) that analogue monitors(VGA output) aren't supported on the new pascal generation. Is there a way to bypass that with some kind of analogue to digital converter or whatever(although the article said that simple adapters won't really work)? (I know it's crazy to buy a 1070 and still play on like an 8yr old monitor, but I really don't want to buy a new monitor now.)

Solution
I own a 1080 and my second monitor is connected using VGA and connects to the card with a VGA-to-HDMI adaptor. It was around 20-30 bucks from Best Buy. Works great.

Hope this helps!
should be pretty easy. i converted vga to hdmi so should be able to do it the other way. i'd imagine a sinple cable would work with vga on one end and dvi, dp or hdmi on the other end. you're not worried about high resolutions so no worries with that issue.

maybe something like this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812421016&cm_re=hdmi_to_vga-_-12-421-016-_-Product

have to double check whether you'll need male or femal vga as i forget and don't run it anymore. but the cable is the right idea and pretty cheap really.

I thought so too, but then i saw this:
"Search for performance lead the company to remove as much legacy options as possible, and you can no longer connect the GTX 1080 with an analog display. D-SUB15 is now firmly in the past, and you cannot make the connection work even if you use a 3rd party adapter. The rest of connectors include a 144Hz-capable DVI, three DisplayPort 1.4 and a single HDMI 2.0B connector."
Basically even you use a converter,every1 is saying that NVIDIA have effectively killed analogue signal support.

it's cheap because almost every comment says it sucks.

Any DVI, DP, or HDMI to VGA converter with good reviews should work. See monoprice etc.

I can check and link one.

that was mostly to illustrate the idea that they make cables like this for that purpose. as i said may not even be the right connection for the vga end but still gave the idea :)

i have owned a few of these type cables and have not had any issues before. i bought a 20 ft one for like $10 off newegg and it worked great converting dvi to hdmi for a tv. random people's reviews mean nothing to me really as most problems people have are user error and not quality issues 😀

i would not expect a cable or adapter with the correct connections to be an issue. i don't see how nvidia could make the output somehow not allow the signal to be converted. goes against what i know about how they work. no idea where you read that, but i think they misinterpreted nvidia's words about doing away with the vga/analog connection.

I see no difference in quality. I used to have it with a DVI cable, and and there has been no degradation in quality after I have been using VGA with a HDMI-to-VGA adapter.

I hope this helps!

Hi there, have u noticed any difference in terms of latency or fps-wise for gaming? Because i want to do the same thing but i want my vga monitor to be my main gaming monitor.
