VGA No Signal

This Christmas, I assembled a computer and managed to get it to power on successfully. However, when I plug in my monitor, I get a VGA No Signal message, and afterwards, my monitor goes to sleep mode with the orange light. I tried switching the mode to DVI, but the same thing happened with a "DVI No Signal" Message.

I've made sure that the VGA and DVI cables are in properly on both ends, and that the screws are tightened. Also, I have a GTX 660 video card, and I'm not sure if anything is supposed to plug into that as far as the monitor goes. Any help?

Here's some relevant build components:

Monitor: ASUS VW246H Glossy Black 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000:1 (1000:1) Built-in Speakers

Note: I just tried hooking the monitor up by VGA to my laptop, and it worked perfectly.

If you have a video card then you're supposed to plug in the cable from the monitor to the card, not the motherboard output.

That card has DVI, why not use your DVI cable from the card to the monitor?

Everything working A-OK now. About to begin some BIOS work, OS Installation, and Driver loading.
