ive been trying to connect my screen with dsub on my motherboard since my hdmi cable broke... but when i start my pc with my gfx pluged in ( sapphire radeon r9 270) it says theres no signal but when i unplug it ir works like wtf

Solution
That's the issue then, when your graphics card is plugged in the video cable from the monitor MUST be plugged into it for you to get a signal. If you plug the video cable into the motherboard you are using onboard graphics, not the r9 270.

If your graphics card doesn't have the required type of cable connector you might need to get an adapter for it.

if your pc is a newer one with amd or intel gpu. look for primany display adapter in the bios set it to ipgpu. if there a line for muilt monitor support turn it on so both the gpu and ipgpu will turn on. on older amd and intel mb if there a gpu installed the onboard video port turns off.

I've got a new AMD gpu and cpu... as you said I need to access the BIOS and configure the settings out.. thanks atleast
