Good day everyone! First of all I want to say that this community is wonderfull and full of excellent advices! Well done, cudos, bravo! So I recently finish a new build, successfully installed OS , updates and drivers. Bellow is the parts list:
CPU: Intel Core i5-14600K
MB: Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX (1.1)
GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Windforce 12GB OC
RAM: Corsair Dominator 2x16GB DDR5 6000
PSU: Corsair RM850x (80+ gold)
CPU COOLER: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT
CASE: Corsair iCUE 5000d airflow
MONITOR: Samsung Odyssey G5 32.0" 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Monitor (LS32AG500PPXEN)

But I run into a very weird issue. Actually two weird issues.
The first issue is that when I power the computer on , via the power button, the RGB LEDs on the motherboard flash momentarily before it boots up normally. Now, this is more of a nuisance and a problem, but I can't help but wonder if it's supposed to work like this or is there a short in the system that will eventually make the whole thing explode before my eyes.
The second and more concerning issue is that the VGA status led on the MoBo stays on if I power the system up BEFORE I power up the monitor. The monitor is hooked to the GPU with the included Display Port cable, that came with the monitor. (GPU didn't have any cable in the package) The sequence of actions is this:
1. Turn the system on
2. Turn the monitor on
3. Status LED on MoBo go on their cycle and the VGA led stays on
4. Monitor displays "no signal found" message
5. BIOS press del to enter screen shows up and
6. Boots normally into windows
7. The VGA light is still on and won't go off unless I do a restart.
Now I tried different ports to see if it's a faulty port, but I got the same result from all 3 of them. I used the HDMI cable and the problem was gone! But the HDMI won't suffice for me, as I want something that can support the 165 frames refresh rate. I also re-seated the GPU in it's slot, and changed PCIe power cables (between the ones that came with the PSU). Still had the same issue.
Mind you, the GPU is working properly even if the led is on, Windows identify the card and the monitor. I run heaven benchmark on ultra setting 1440p and got 130 fps average. With max GPU temp at 58 celcius.
I understand that this could be just a glitch , but I can find anything online , apart from an Nvidia tool fix for display port that is only for the 10series and doesn't include 4070. Any thoughts?
