VGA won't connect with Asus G11

Yesterday December 25th i got the Asus G11, i have two monitors and both worked with my ASUS ROG g20, one used VGA and the other used DVI, This computer only has been accepting the DVI cord with both monitors but when i plug in the VGA it says no signal, while the DVI is working fine. Do i need a VGA to HDMI cord? i will list the specs below but 100% won't take apart my computer....

Windows 10
Intel i5 Processor
DDR4 16GB
Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb
HDD 1TB, SSD 512GB storage

Do you HAVE to use VGA? It is an inferior interface to all the other monitor interface types.

The monitor only has VGA and DVI and the DVI is plugged into this monitor.. so would i need a VGA to HDMI cord?

OK, doesn't that 1060 have display ports? Get a displayport to DVI cable.
