VGA_LED red light no display

VGA_led is lit up red when using my gtx 1070 graphics card and does not show anything on the display however, when not using the graphics card it does boot up and there is a display. I have just built my pc and it was working fine with the graphics card earlier on and then I restarted it and the display did not come back on. I have tried different PCIE slots and have taken out and put back the CMOS battery. I have a Asus z170 A motherboard and an i7 6700k. When I start my pc all fans are spinning and lights are on even on the graphics card but nothing happens on the display it just says no signal.

I had a problem with 980ti where all mobo lights worked the fans spun, however I could not boot to bios turned out my graphics card was dead.
