Hello,
My vaio is VGN-FZ290 with integrated nvidia graphics card. Now the graphic card is collapsed. I don't really know if it possible to replace the graphic card without buying a new motherboard?

Solution
The proper word to use is "failed".

If you are skilled at soldering, then it is possible to replace the failed nVidia chip on the motherboard. But you will need to buy a replacement chip first. You can bring it into a repair shop and they can have it replaced.
Ok first you say the motherboard "collapsed", then you say the graphic card "collapsed", but you don't even have a graphics card, you have integrated graphics.

So which is it?

If by collapsed you mean it does not work anymore, then you'll need a new motherboard.
