When i built my pc a few years back i bought a pack of 2x8GB HyperX blu ram. I installed both of the sticks and it didn't work. At the time i instantly gave up, but now id like to try and get it to work.

The pc runs perfectly with just 8GB of ram. No problem there. When i put in the 2nd stick and turn on the pc, the CPU's fan spins for about 3 seconds before giving up. Then it goes into a cycle of the CPU's fan spinning for a second and then giving up again. No video is being output either.

I got them to work and boot up today for like 3 minutes. Then the screen went dark and the pc went into the same cycle of fan on fan off. After that it just went straight into the cycle.

I have no bloody idea what is wrong here.

Specs
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte F2A75-D3H
GPU: Radeon HD 7700 series

Yup, unfortunately that sounds like the problem. On the fortunate side though, at least you seem to have found the source of the problem and can get it fixed soon. Awesome, give me any updates you have :)

Hey Hagird, sorry to hear about your problem, this sounds very frustrating. I can't promise that I'll be able to find the problem, but I will try to work through it with you. First of all, have you tried both sticks of RAM running individually in the PC? I'm wondering if maybe you've only tried the one on its own and maybe the second stick could simply be damaged and prove to be dysfunctional even on its own. Also, I would try to put the sticks in alone and together in all different combinations of the RAM slots and see what the results are in each situation because your motherboard might even have a damaged RAM slot. I hope we can get to a solution :)

Yep, seems like the stick that has always worked is still working in every slot. The other one will still boot up into a vicious cycle even when it's slotted in alone. It worked for like a second and then broke again. I think the stick has to be broken. I'll try to get a replacement and let you know if it works or not. Thanks!
