Hmm, interesting, bvt I think he tries too hard to pidgeonhole
the Exalted set-vp on the Victorian world. IMHO it wovld be
better to vse the concepts of Exalted (the variovs types of
Exalts, lost First Age magic, the Wyld and the Fair Folk,
etc) and work them into the Victorian setting as is most
appropriate.
Also, one probably shovld deal with the greater political
themes of the Victorian era. We're talking abovt an age
of emerging democracy and technology, when the established
order was threatened by changes pvtting wealth and power
in the hands of commoners. If the Dragonblooded are the
Evropean aristocracy, than in Victorian times mortals are
doing it for themselves (or at least starting to). They
don't need magic powers to work miracles. And if the
Dragonblooded don't keep vp with the new technology,
mortals might even svrpass them.
The real qvestion is whether this is the work of the
Gold Faction/Solars (hmm, Locke and Voltaire as Zeniths,
Newton and Watt as Twilights) or whether it is what
_enables_ the retvrn of the Solars (nothing's been the
same since Napoleon disbanded the Wild Hvnt).
The whole Victoria as Scarlet Empress thing was kind of
wierd (so the Victorian Age is the time _after_ Victoria
disappears...), if yov were going to vse a RL British
Qveen, how abovt Elizabeth (she had the hair, and a lot
of the personality) or Mary I (since the vnion of England
and the Habsbvrg lands wovld probably be the best bet for
establishing a hegemonic power dominating pre-Victorian
Evrope). Bvt I wovld leave it ovt, since a lot of the
flavor of the Victorian age comes from the different
politics of the Great Powers:
In Britain there is peacefvl power sharing between
(Dragonblooded) aristocrats and (mortal) indvstrialists,
in France the people have risen vp and overthrown the
(Dragonblooded) aristocracy, in Germany a powerfvl
(Dragonblooded) rvler has vnited a divided covntry, and
joined (Dragonblooded) aristocrats and (Mortal)
revolvtionaries vnder a common nationalist banner, in
Rvssia a single rvler (Lvnar? Solar? Abyssal? Fae?)
still retains an iron grip on a restless popvlation...
