Hey guys, I want to upgrade my video card, something that will last me a while, into my next “full” build. But for now I think just the video card will suffice and give me a drastic difference. I’m considering upgrading to this video card:
ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Dual Overclocked Dual Fan 12GB GDDR6X PCIe 4.0 Graphics Card
Currently I have the following specs:
Motherboard:
ASRock Z170 Pro4S LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Ram:
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-16GVR
(Two of these at 32gb total)
GPU:
MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GD5 OCV1
CPU:
Intel Core i7 6th Gen - Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530
Power supply:
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 120-G1-0650-XR 80+ GOLD 650W Fully Modular
HD:
Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX 1TB SATA Hard Disk
SSD:
Kingston Digital 120GB SSDNow V300 SATA 3 2.5 (7mm height) Solid State Drive (SV300S37A/120G)
Monitors:
ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor
HP Pavilion 22xw is a 54.6 cm (21.5 inch) IPS LED Backlit monitor
So what do you guys think? Will this fit my current rig? I know it smile putting Ferrari engine in a smart car but the idea is to upgrade this for now and put it in a new motherboard with CPU when I can afford to do so. Is this worth the upgrade for now? Let me know if you need any more info on my current, and any thoughts and comments are super appreciated!
*edit- just want to add I’m not a computer professional by any means, I don’t mess around in bios or over clocking or that kind of jazz. For me it’s boot up, double click my game, and play!
