I currently have a Dell XPS 8700. I don't believe the current video card would support the game Doom. Which video cards could you recommend that are compatible with this system?

Solution
+NorthernThunder There are two things that you need to consider before upgrading your graphics card: (1) wattage & quality of your current power supply, and (2) space inside your case.

I previously owned a Dell Precision T5810, and installed a MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G card. That computer came with an upgraded 685 watt power supply (I believe) and was more than sufficient power. However, the height of the card didn't allow me to close the case, because the side panel of Dell Precisions has a handle on the inside of it.

In your case, I think your computer comes with a 460 watt power supply. Ideally it would be great if you purchased a GTX 1070 (releases tomorrow) but you'd need to also upgrade your power supply to accommodate it...

Also, you should purchase the power supply and the graphics card from a vendor that has a no hassle return or exchange policy, in case the new video cards doesn't fit. Below is a performance review for Doom. Please watch it.
