Hello,

So lately my video card gets hot (80c) when I'm noy playing a game.

When I play a game it runs fine, but after like 15 minutes the game starts to get laggy. Even when I exit the game, my video card will still be at 80c.
This problem can be temporarely fixed by (clean)installing another driver, and then every game runs fine without hiccups and the card doesnt stay at 80c when I exit it. But when I restart my computer I'm having the same problem again and I have to reinstall my driver every time I start up my computer to prevent the card from running hot without reason.

-MSI GTX 760
-AMD FX-8320
-8GB DDR3 RAM
-WINDOWS 7 64-bit

How can I fix this?
Thanks for your help.

I dont think its mining malware, because currently my gpu doesnt run hot.
It just gets randomly hot at times.
when my gpu is actually hot, even when im not in a game the GPU utilization is well above 60%, which is strange.

What you describe is symptomatic of mining malware.

Try a full scan of malwarebytes.

I guess youre right. I scanned my computer and it found 2 viruses. If i get the problem again the coming week I will report back to you.

Thanks a lot for your help

Good luck.

Sometimes just wiping and reinstalling can be the easiest option.
