Hi Forum,

Problem: This issue has just started as of a few weeks ago. Had same items in pc for months. CPU Freezing randomly when gaming (wow) and or just video streaming. I have a video of the issue listed below. PC locks up and I can not control anything. No mouse functions, No Clt Alt Del. Only fix is restarting the whole system. The timing of this happening is totally random. This can happen within an hour of use or 5 hours of use. I do leave my PC on during the day and I have never found it frozen when first logging on . I have tried 2 of the same video cards one and a time and found the issue when using either. I have done a clean sweep of the drivers and made sure to have updated drivers and still same issues. I have also tried only using 1 monitor still have issues.

:bounce: Video of Issue: VIDEO OF ISSUE with sounds.

Please let me know any information I might have missed. Thanks .

That looks like a video card driver to me. If the newest version from Nvidia doesn't work, you may want to look for older drivers that pertain to the games you play and the 200 series of cards. Be sure to delete your drivers first and perform a clean install of the new ones. I suppose it could be a Windows problem too as I don't have much experience with W8.

I never thought of the windows 8 issue but that makes the most sense to me now that I think about it I think this only started after windows 8 upgrade was made. Maybe I should go back to windows 7. Any other thoughts are welcomed. Thanks

If I were you, if you can revert to Win 7 without much trouble, I would. That would narrow down the issue in at least one area. Again, I cannot speak to driver support for 8. You should check for updates regarding your gpu, sound chip and maybe even a BIOS update that may better support 8. I have stayed away from it as I don't like the interface personally.

I wish I would have stayed away from Win8 also only reason I upgraded was that I had a free upgrade. Without a touch item it seems to be a pain.

Attemping to find my Win7 so I can reinstall it.
