Video Card Noise

I recently purchased a Sapphire R9 290x Tri-X OC from Amazon and it's been running great. The only problem I am having is the noise it makes when playing any game that pushes it. The weird part is if I manually clock the fan speed at say 50%, I end up with this high pitched buzzing noise that I can hear slightly, but the moment I start running a game the noise is amplified, even though the fan speed hasn't changed . Any help identifying the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Coil whine is possibly fixable if it's of open type where you see the coil itself. A bit of nail polish sometimes fixes it. It's pretty common problem with PSUs and older MBs.
Thanks for identifying the problem and is there anything I can do to reduce the noise? I would rather not return the card, although I understand that coil whine is something that is not really fixable.

My GTX680 squeels a bit. Immediately though something was wrong with it, but after reading online it seems that it is a benign condition. It seems to be going away though. Nothing to worry about!
