A few days ago, I bought a new Asus M32 Desktop PC from Best Buy along with an EVGA GTX 970 Super Super-clocked video card, and a 520 watt power supply. After I had assembled all the parts on the pc, it was time to boot the system. I had to configure the UEFI BIOS to boot from the Hard drive, and it worked out alright. Once I got Windows 8.1 setup and configured, I inserted the included video drivers CD-ROM that came with my gtx 970.
As I began to install the drivers (after going through the compatibility check, terms, etc.), a warning windows popped up. I can't remember exactly what the warning said, but from what I remember, it stated "...please enable your AMD Video Adapter via display manager..." I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly. Now, what I did differently than I would normally do was, I did not uninstall the pre-installed on-board video drivers before installing the new ones. I also had the video connected to my video card from the start, not the motherboard. (Not so sure if it matters though).
So, I'm not so sure what happened, this is the first time I have ever used Windows 8.1, not so sure if I was supposed to do anything special to the Operating system or not... Also, the pre-installed drivers are still installed, since I haven't had time to remove them yet.
PC Specs:
CPU: AMD A10-6700 Quad-core @3.5Ghz
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC (Super Super-Clocked) 4GB GDDR5
PSU: Insignia 520W
Motherboard: not so sure...
