I noticed that with the asus video cards there is the OC version and the regular version. There is about a fifty dollar difference. Is it worth it or can I overclock the regular version on my own?
Well for them there might be a few tweaks in the drivers but honestly you probably could just overclock it yourself. They probably coded the fans to run at certain speeds because it's running hotter whereas doing it yourself sometimes the consumer can personally adjust the fan speeds. The thing is that you will want to keep within the amount of OC that the OC version is tweaked too. Any higher and you'll want liquid cooling of some sort. The other thing to think about is how expereinced are you with pC tweaking of this magnitude. If you trust yourself, I'd do it because of the satisfaction of doing it yourself. But if your not farmiliar with this type of PC moding and you fuck up, then you're out of $360+.
