Hello, im new to these forums. it looks like a friendly place to ask since you guys are the experts.
I was wondering what to upgrade, my processor, ram or video card for my son to play battlefield or whatever games with good frame rate,
My specs are:
Amd a6 3500 apu 2.1ghz 3 core
EVGA Nvidia geforce gt220 1gb gddr5
2gb ddr3 memory
ASUS F1A 55-m LX PLUS motherboard socket fm1
500w psu
500gb hdd
Could you guys give me some suggestions?
Thank you.

Oh dear...

Uhm, both? :/
That rig is kinda lacking for a gaming setup.

The cheapest upgrade, and one that should be done, is replacing the ram with two 4GB sticks.

After that it depends on the quality of the PSU and the size of the case. I'll warn you, though, that the best option would be to save up and buy a new computer, keeping only the hard drive and possibly the power supply and case.

Nothing in that computer is particularly powerful, and I'm not surprised it struggles with BF3.

Have to agree with DarkSable.

Whatever you do, DO NOT upgrade the cpu on that FM1 board! FM1 socket is dead so throwing more money at that would be a waste.

What is your budget?
You could upgrade the graphics card but need to know budget and monitor resolution.

my budget is around 100 dollars for my son. He wanted a pc to play some decent games with medium presets. Also, would i be able to overclock my cpu? it says turbocore to 2.4ghz, but im new to overclocking.
Thank you.

With $100 budget you could go this route:
Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) = $18

MSI N550GTX-Ti-M2D1GD5/OC GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card = $100 - $30 rebate

I would suppose you could try overclocking the cpu, but then you will probably need a better heatsink. Just not sure how well the Llanos overclock.
