Question Video card problem ?

I dropped my monitor last night and I broke it
Today I bought a new one but the output from the video card its not working
I put the cable in the motherboard port and it's working with the graphics card installed ?

using what connection hdmi/dp/dvi?
what the new monitor model?

the new monitor has dp/vga/hdmi
the cards its working in games but when i put the hdmi in the video card its not giving singnal
if i put the hdmi cable in the motherboard its not working only vga
after the monitor broke last night the power went out

Was the monitor plugged into the gpu when it was dropped?

yes was plugged in via hdmi
all the games are working fine , when i put the hdmi in the video card its not displaying nothing when i plug it to the motherboard its displaying and all the games are working fine.

The video card doesn't show up in dxdiag . but in cpu-z .tech-z and msi afterburner its showing
i even update it today and it shows in amd catalyst

i have done that
i put into the other slot the x8, same thing its displaying video thru motherboard vga
i dont know why its that ...
i was thinking the hdmi port from the video card to be dead or something?

Yes its a sapphire plus 5500xt --- 3 x DP and 1x HDMI

i get the same problem . i notice the fps drops in games ...maybe the video card got damage during the monitor falling down and broke
i mention before when the monitor fall and broke the whole power in the house was down becouse of that
