video card purchase

hey , guy's i need your expert opion about a video card . my outdated card needs to be replaced and i have 220 bucks to spend on a new one . i want one that will play the latest games without out any problems. i have been using a nvidia based card for awhile now.and it has been acting up so nows the time to upgrade. any idea what i can go with?

For a couple bucks more your best bet by far is the Radeon 9800 non-pro, or a Radeon 9700 pro or non-pro if you can find one. (Not the SE... stay away from the SE).

For $210, the GeforceFX 5900 is a good deal.

Also woth considering for $200 is the Radeon 9600XT that comes with a free Half Life 2 voucher.

In many games the 9600 Pro is better than the FX5900. It cost around $150. The 9800 Pro is much better still. The 9800 non-pro is just like the Pro, except with a slighly slower clock speed.

Botht eATI and the Latest 9800 graphics cards START at $800.00 Canadian.
Circuit City we have those in Canada but I live in the Ottawa Capitol Area and we do not get to walk out of stores with free graphics cards. Hell I would by 1 of each just to muck around with them where in hell do you shop ?

Hmm interesting the only games where 9600 pro is faster than 5900 are warcraft 3 and comand&conquer (where almost every card scores similar to each other but ati ones are better for those games) can you show me any benchmark using final version of games (no leaked beta's) and 5x.xx detonators where 9600pro or xt is better than 5900?
