All the prices are in Canadian dollars and are from PC Parts Picker.ca.

I have been looking at upgrading my existing video card. My budget is around $350, so I was looking at a 1660 Ti. I have had a few people recommend a 5700 instead. Looking at prices it seems like the 1660 Ti is around $350-400, while the 5700 seems to be closer to $500-$550. I know they are fairly new and currently seem to be in a high demand. I was just wondering if that price is currently a bit inflated, or if that's sort of the price different to expect between the two cards?

When people were suggesting the 5700 instead I assumed the cost would be sort of in the same ball park. I know it's sort of subjective thing, so maybe I was interpreting what they were saying incorrectly.

Would there be any other cards in that $350-$400 price range? Or would a either a 1660 ti or maybe if I can find a good price on a original 2060 be the best bet?

Thanks

I'd say that price difference is too high. I'd go for the 1660 Ti.

US pricing is $279 for 1660 Ti and $350 for 5700.

I have seen the 5700 for as low as $460 (CDN). What is the difference between a $560 and $460 model if they are using the same reference card? Is it just better cooling? Would that be worth an extra $100?

If it's the same reference model then it's the same. No difference. Must be availability of that particular brand that affects pricing. Custom models are much better at cooling though. I would recommend a custom model rather than reference. So if that costs too much then I wouldn't get the 5700 if its reference.

I don't think I have even seen any of the custom models. It looks like they all use the reference cooler but they are from third party supplier. They all different prices so I'm not really sure what the difference is.
