Video card upgrade for dell xps 8300

I want to buy a new video card like R9 270X or 280X, but i dont know if these cards are compatible with my motherboard or what adicional hardware I must buy, help pls!

CPU: i7-2600
RAM: 6GB
MOTHERBOARD: dell xps 8300 motherboard (dont know the name :s)
power supply: 460w

the problem is not whether these cards will fit in the mobo but the power supply . For R9 280X you ll need 2 x 8 pins pwer connectors and extra 300W .With this psu no .R9 270X needs 2 x 6 pin power connectors and 225W .R9 270 needs only one 6 pin connector ,more likely to have it , and 175W .it is only 5% slower than R9 270X.

but GDDR5 works in any mobo? i got enought ram to get full performance of the video card? or everything else that i must know before buy

99% R9 270 will work , check if the psu has one 6 pin connector

for R9 270 , check whether your psu has two 6 pin power connectors , it it has , 99% probability
to be 100% sure , see how much Amp has the psu on +12V rail .

2) +12V A -- 18A
+12VC -- 8A
+12VB -- 16A

16 A x +12V = 216 W < 175 W , so R9 270 will work

it has 2 x 6 +2 pin connectors and enough 46A on +12V rail , so it can power R9 280X

R9 270x is only 5% faster than R9 270 , just a bit overclocked version . it is not worth the extra money .
