I've been searching for a video card with component video
outs to run my PC to my Sony LCD projection HDTV. I'd like
to use component instead of DVI because the TV's single DVI
input is used by the satellite. PC is a 3Ghz 1.5G RAM
Media Center with TV tuner and PVR. Current video card is
an FX 5200 that only has VGA and S-Video. The s-video
picture is more than tolerable, but I'd really like a higher
resolution. Dual monitor support with separate aspect
ratios would be great. Does such an animal exist? I don't
want an all in one type card as I believe they are not
compatible with Media Center 2004.

Thanks for any info,
Robin

I am not sure I either do not unstand you or simply do not get what you
aftter.
Generally for nvidia current FX series will have the following -
1 - RGB
1 - DVI
1 - 4pins DIN [TV output]

ViVo version -
All above listed except for DIN with 9pins instead of 4pins.
With this ViVo, this card version will have capturing capable.

If you are looking for two DVI, you may need to look at 6800Ultra card.

As for ATI card like AllInWonder 9800 series -
1- Video In
1 - CATV in
1 - RGB out
1 - DVI out

9700 AIW will have extra RGB out instead of DVI

ATI AIW will have an accessories call ATI input Adaptor that you can have
attach to Video in or Video out [A/V out / in].

X800 series [AGP] -
1 - RGB out
1 - DVI out
1 - S-Video out

All this information on ATI site from it respective model.

All the Nvidia cards with TV-out that I have seen come with an Svideo to
Composite adaptor, but Svideo is meant to be better than composite. - do you
mean RCA composite when you mention 'component'?

I am not sure where I say "component" from my previous post.
I believed GTS indicate this "Component".
Scroll down for rewiew.

As for component regarding about VGA card are refer to port or item attach
to.
For most people during with Video, S-Video consider to be better than RCA or
Composite [referred to both].

I was referring to component video outs, otherwise known as
Y Pr Pb. They support 16X9 aspect where as s-video and
composite do not. DVI does, but my TV only has one DVI
input that is being used by the satellite. I finally saw
that the ATI 9800 series cards have a DVI with an available
DVI to component converter. It looks like a good option for
me.

ATi have accessories for Y Pr Pb to attach to their card. So far, nvidia do
not have this or atleast I do not see this option.
