Question Video cards can burn PCI EXPRESS motherboard slot ???

Hey guys i'm new to this community, i want a advice of you, i can burn my pci slot putting a graphics card that has defect, because i had one that only give video when it want to.

And other question, my motherboard suddenly turned off and it opened after i press power button for a while, mobo is dying??

my specs:
i5 2400
h61m-s1
8gb ram ddr3 oem
ssd 240 gb + 500gb hd
hd 7850 1gb (defect) (rx570 coming next month)
akasa ak-pt050fg 500 w 80 plus

i got the mobo recently because the older one have a defect at pcie express, so i want to test my video card if it's still working,
since i want to give it to my little brother PC, but i don't want to burn his mobo or test it in mine for this fear ( waiting my rx 570 )...
