My motherboard died and I went to replace it. Turns out that the new motherboard was defective. But I tried all the usual trouble shooting steps short of pulling out my DMM. I tried the cards both GTX 650's from EVGA. NO picture. My husbands monitor is a 40" LG TV. The input is HDMI so we have a DVI to HDMI cable. It worked fine when it was in his computer earlier. Now he has a new Video Card that is an Asus Radeon R7 260X with 2GB GDDR5 onboard memory. It is not showing either. His motherboard is an Asus Rampage III Extreme. It should be plug and play. Help!!!

I am quite technically oriented. I worked in the Telecom business for 20 years and have been playing with computers for 24 years. I am stumped!

I thought about that on my machine when the issues started. My husband's computer hasn't stopped working. We think the defective Asus motherboard did something to my video cards. So he purchased a new Radeon R7 260X 2GB card. It too will not work.

Perhaps something happened to the buss for the 16bit PCI-e slots. I don't know how to reset that if this is the case.

Help we don't have a working PC other than my Apple iPad. And with a LogiTech ultra-slim keyboard, that makes using this iPad somewhat more tolerable. But it is by no means anything close to a Personal Computer!

Somehow the new video card came out of its slot. So I put it in and hit the reset button on the MB. Then I started the PC with the start button again on the motherboard. Viola The video now works. But it is quite noisy. Going to rearrange quite a few of the cables to rectify the situation. :bounce:

I'm glad you found the solution to your problem :)
