This morning I reinstalled Windows 7 with an OEM system builder disk which I originally used to build this PC.
I did this because I got hacked, and was unsure if I was still infected. I decided to start clean.
I started windows with no errors. Checked my Bios was up to date and it was.
I used the original installation CD to install my video driver and utilities. Everything seem to go well and It asked me to restart. When windows starts, the desktop background picture loads and that's it. I can hit (control - alt - delete) and the screen changes to black. if i hit ESC it goes back to the desktop. I must restart my computer in safe mode, uninstall the video driver and reboot again to get windows to visually load.
The installed Video Card is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 660.
Other steps I already tried:
1. Downloading the driver directly from Nvidia, disabling all nvidia processes, and install - Did not work, same problem
2. Download Geforce Experience and install the driver - Did not work, same problem
3. Tried using the original CD again - Did not work, Same problem.
I am waiting for windows to check/update, then try upgrading to windows 10.
Any Help would be appreciated.
