I just installed the latest ATI driver which is version 10.8. When I check the driver version in device manager it says its 8.762.0.0. Is this normal? If not why is this happening?

Yes it is normal the driver is just a part of the 10.8 CCC package.

Yes the driver number isnt linked to the release number, the release numbers are just year and month. Everything is fine.
