Hey Everyone
I am planning on buying a PC from scratch and was wondering a couple of things:
I'm going with the i5 4690K for CPU, GTX 970 for Graphics, and 8 gigs of RAM

1- I need you to suggest a motherboard that is compatible with the above OVERCLOCKED because i kinda suck at mobos.
2- Is the shader difference and quality of performance between the 980 and the 980 ti worth the price difference? and is there any reason for me to not get the ti?
3- Suggest the perfect box for this and by box i mean the case and the cooling system, and also comment if u think a 600 WAT isn't enough for this build.
4- Do i really need an SSD with that or am i better off saving its money?why?

Thanx for future replies.

Solution
1. ASus z97 PC mate or gigabyte z97 d3h will suffice for over clocking . Or you can go for the Asus z97-K .
2. I am assuming you are talking about 980Ti . No , gtx 970 is the best bang for buck card.
3. Enermax ECA3280A-BR ATX Mid Tower Case , quite a Good case. If you want good looks , you can go for the phantom 410 , saw it for 75$ on Amazon , black variant.
4. No not an SSD , you need 3 Drives if you are really into video editing. 2 WD blue 1tb for rendering and intermittent work in Raid 0 , and another 2 tb drive to store the final data for reliability , A WD red 2Tb for max reliability or a WD green if you want to save some money.
5. Yes 600W is enough for your system , but from a reputed brand only. Corsair is borderline...

Motherboard
On a budget? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gah97md3h
Not on a budget? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h97pro4

There is no such thing as the GTX 970 Ti.

500W is the minimum for this build.

Case
On a budget? HAF 912 - Great Airflow
Not on a budget? Define R5 - Great Airflow, Slick Design, Easy Install

In my opinion unless your budget is $1200+ in the US, you are better of getting a better GPU than having an SSD.

6. 8 Gb ram is low for video editing get 16 Gb.
7. You have mentioned i5 4690 , you are referencing to 4690K (with the K right).

Solution

Yea i was referring to the 4690K for the overclocking, I heard some about the H97 having problems with the clocking, how do u think? and what do u mean by "Borderline reputed"?

H97 based boards are not meant for overclocking CPu . At max they can OC to 100mhz . Only z97 based boards support full OC . But h97 boards support RAM OC , atleast the ones i mentioned.
There are h81/91 based boards too . They dont support OC, have only 2 sata 6gbps controllers (h97 has 6) , and no usb 3.0 headers on motherboard for cabinet front panel usb 3.0 connectivity, 5.1 CH audio (h97 above have 7.1 Ch). These are the primary differences in Intel boards.

Borderline reputed because , corsair doesnt manufacture their PSU. They are outsourced , lower end ones by cheap companies . The higher end ones are made by Seasonic. while lower end by CWT which is above average brand. They do provide great prices and good customer support but, not so much of an excellent quality in entry level PSU. You can infer it from their warranty period also , which is 3 years for Corsair while 5 for Seasonic.

great answer man thanx ^^

Pick a solution if you are satisfied , will help others.
Also , h97 supports hardware level raid while h81 doesn't but you can still use storage spaces on them (win 8 feature) to replicate the functionality. Raid 0 which is striping , provides double read and write performance speeds (over 300
MBps ) comparable to SSDs . Raid 1 is mirroring which provides double read speeds at the cost of halving the disk space.
Do keep in mind raid 0 should never be used for primary storage or backups , since it has double chances of failure compared to a single drive, since if any drive fails , data is lost .
But raid is particularly good for video editing . SSDs outshine raids only because of their very low access time in comparison to a raid set-up (which has exactly the same access time as a single drive amongst them). For Single files of huge size , Raid perform similar at a much lower cost.
