Video Editing PC upgrade help

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2 Ghz
MB: Asus Crosshair V
Graphics card: Radeon HD 6800 series
OS: Windows 7
Software use: Adobe CS5.5 & 6

We use this PC primary for photo/video editing. What should we upgrade CPU or graphics card? What is the best bang for the budget?

Budget is dependent on the benefit (ie if i can reduce rendering time from 1hr to 5 mins, i can justify more)

Upgrade the CPU, it is more important in terms of video editing and photo editing, way more important.

It depends if you want to go Intel or AMD, and what your budget is. Your AMD CPU is one of the best (that is of AMD) so I would go Intel.

that doesn't matter. obviously I want the best bang for buck. It would be nice if I could just swap out the CPU. But if the performance justifies it, I am willing to upgrade motherboard and cpu too.

I would suggest upgrading to an Intel i7 CPU and a socket LGA 1150 or 2011 motherboard. What's your budget?

You did not include DDR4 RAM, which is required for that CPU!

You would probably see no performance improvement with the FX 8350. The Intel builds would crush those.

Double-check your RAM speed to see if it's compatible. The i7-4790k will support a minimum of 1333 MHz DDR3 dual-channel RAM.
