I'm looking to get a PC build that will be good both for gaming (I play games like Skyrim and GTA V with lots of mods for graphics etc) as well as digital work. I do 3D modelling and drawing on large canvases in programs like Corel. I use autocad also. I don't plan to overclock at least until the cpu would be getting slow with age and I'd need the extra kick. I'm planning to buy/build in September.

I'd also like your opinion on whether I should get a curved monitor or not; I think it might be good for gaming but I'm not sure with digital work. Also they're quite costly so that's a debbie downer.

This is my first build; which sites are the best to buy components from in the UK (England)?

The prices of uk stores are pretty overpriced, I'm really pissed off by it, anyhow this the build I suggest http://pcpartpicker.com/p/67MVzy $1800 (w/out os) it is priced in uk stores for £1384, Some components are cheaper, but MOST are pretty expensive, anyway, about the build, the greatest thing about this build is the cpu, it's a i7 5820k 3.3GHz 6-core processor that is more than enough for editing, and overkill for gaming, the gpu is a gtx 980ti, this build is equipped with 250 gb ssd and 3tb hdd, 16gb of ddr4 2133 ram, a very good case, and 850w psu, enough for another gtx 980ti down the road...

Curved monitors are just a bit of a novelty/gimmick to be honest, I'd just get a decent 1080P IPS monitor.

In terms of the build, I'd go for an i5 as a minimum but you can afford an i7. The 6 core i7 does look like good value at only £10 more than a 4 core one. The motherboards are much more expensive as well but seems worth it at your budget.

Aria, Scan, CCL, Ebuyer and Overclockers are all good UK stores.

That would do a good job in your work and gaming. Anything more powerful than the GTX 970 is probably overkill at 1080P.

Thinking about it, if it isn't absolutely critical that the CAD/Modelling is done ASAP and you don't mind if it takes a few extra seconds here and there you could get an i5 which would still be excellent for gaming. Frees up more cash for other stuff:

That would get you much better gaming performance and a 1440P IPS monitor.
