Video Editor laggy And disk Usage 100% , Any way to fix ?

Im not that great video editor , But still like just applying transitions and some effects , But when i play the edited , the disk usage becomes 100% And the editor becomes Laggy . Please help or tell some tips to fix / decrease lag

Core i3 540 @ 3.1Ghz
Geforce 210 OC @ 650Mhz
4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
Camtasia studio 8
HDD 1 :Western digital 160GB wdc wd1600aabs 00h4a0 ATA Device ( C drive)
HDD 2 :Seagate 500GB ST3500418AS ATA Device ( Editor installed in this drive)
Win 8.1 64bit
450W PSU

Because you're video editing, disk usage will be high because the software is accessing all of your video files. This is not unusual.

So are there any tips to reduce lag OR Make the disk perform better ?

Unfortunately not, video editing is known to be intensive on the disk and unless you have a very powerful system there will always be lag. Perhaps invest in an SSD, that will improve your experience.
