Video Editor Softwares Crashing

Every Video Editor I've tried *Sony Vegas Pro 12, 13 - CyberLink Powerdirector* crashes on startup with a windows error message asking if I'd like to - check online for a solution, close the program, or debug the program. I've tried compat. mode, running as admin, and several programs. The same thing happens in bandicam when I try to change the codec to h.264, yet every thing else works. I'm on windows 8.1. I've also tried installing additional codecs.

Sounds to me like you may have a graphics card problem that Windows automatically is detecting. What is your graphics card?

...and are the drivers for the graphics card up to date?
