I started having problems after I upgraded windows and my video card. Before this every thing was running smooth. Since upgrade it may run 10 minutes or half an hour then screen goes black while running under windows 8. I have a dual boot machine, so i tried running under xp, it ran all day yesterday. How do I figure out what driver or software upgrade that may be causing the problem. I tried to do a restore, but since unit wasnt set up for it previously, it doesnt work. I have a dual core processor 5200 with 4 gigs memory 2.5 ghz. The video card is an nvidia dual monitor geforce 610 external. The unit also works well using the pcs video port.

Solution
It seems like you have driver compatibility issue on your computer that is why you are having this issue with your laptop. so in such kind of situation you should uninstall the driver and install it back on.

Note- before you will do that please let me know about computer configuration also. so that i can give you better suggestion.

Already did the uninstall of the driver and reinstall. Made no difference. After i removed driver , I rebooted machine. The drivers loaded right back. However the way i removed driver was by deleting the drivers thru control panel then i selected uninstall programs. That was suggested by another site. I there a better way. Not sure what you want as far as configeration.

The problem is solved. I uninstalled the device thru device manager. When i rebooted it loaded a driver from a year back. Worked all last night and today until just now. I did an update and installed the lastest driver. So far so good, if it fails then i will know NVidia has a driver issue.

Thanks for your help. Mark this solved please.
