Video Grabbing in Linux Mint 17

VLC works(displays videos with sound). However, I can grab sound but not video from a Lifeview card. QT v4l Test Utility and TVTime show picture but no sound. How do I analyse the problem? Thanks...Dave

In desparation I set the chroma to YUY2 and it's working.
