I'm not entirely sure if this thread fits under the "Displays" section, but my personal guess is that it does.

I recently built a new PC, with the following specs:
MSI PRO Z790-A
Intel Core i7-13700KF
Corsair 32GB KIT DDR5 6200MHz
GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
Samsung 870 EVO 1TB
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P6

I'm using 3 monitors:
The 27" MSI G2722 is primarily for gaming and the other two (DELL P2417H) are for work.

When I want to play a video on either monitor (I use GOM Player, but I've tried other applications [e.g. VLC media player or Media Player Classic], always with the same result), after a short time the video starts to stutter and lags behind the audio track. As soon as I switch (click on) to the player, the video and audio track sync immediately. And when I start working again on another monitor (by work I also mean gaming 😉), after a short time the same thing starts happening again - the video starts to stutter and lags behind the audio track.

I suspect this is caused by the frequency the monitors are running at. My 27" MSI G2722 (connected via DisplayPort) is set to 165Hz, and both DELL P2417H (connected via HDMI) are set to 60Hz.
Am I right or am I wrong?
All drivers are up to date btw.
Thank you for taking the time to possibly answer my question.

Video playback needs high resolution timer running, its possible that you have misconfigured your windows for multitasking..as windows on default settings is configured to give best response on active program, meaning videoplayer in background wont have its 1ms timer running which it needs

by default its set to single program, once you switch cpu scheduling to background tasks, in most cases your issue should go away....unless there is some rogue driver which can mess up system latency
