Video processing i7 or i5?

I have a i5 4460 and wonder if I upgrade to a i7 4790 will my performance increase or I should stick with 4460? Any other similar performance haswell i7 that does similar job if I go for 4790 but cheaper?

For production, yes you will see a performance increase by increasing thread count and clock speed. Since you're relying heavily on the CPU to render, I wouldn't get anything less than the top. I'd go for the 4790

I stumbled across this. Unless you want to overclock and/or run more than two graphics cards, then I think H87 will be fine for you.
