This only started happening to me recently. Whenever I pause a video (either on Youtube, Netflix, etc...) and then try to continue playing it, the video will either give me a playback error or play without sound. In order to fix that, I have to restart my computer and make sure that any video I'm watching isn't paused for more than a few minutes.
I've tried reinstalling Adobe flash player in case that was it but that didn't work. The problem isn't lying with my sound settings or anything since I can test them when the videos aren't playing sound and I hear through my headset just fine. I just don't know what to do.
