Viewsonic VA2226w Signal Loss Problem

Hello,
when I shut down my computer for the night, in the morning I turn it on but my monitor stays black and the green light keeps flashing,to be able to get the monitor on I have to disconnect the power cord from the monitor for a few seconds the it turns on and shows my desk top can you please help me with this problem
