Provided i am sitting in a totally dark room in the middle of the night, and my VP930 is using the "black screen screensaver" should i be seeing lighter areas around corners of the screen? They dont connect all together but if you look from farther away they could make up an X pattern. is this normal? Shoud I be seeing this? I also find that when playing flight simulator 2004 with night settings the sky looks gray/greenish rather than black like on crt. is this kinda normal as well on this unit?

I would apprecieate any tips/opinions on this!

Cheers

I'm not sure about the bleeding problem, but the coloring issue on FS 2004 are probably a combination of a simple adjustment on your color settings and the fact that LCDs have a hard time when it comes to displaying grey and dark colors.

Yes. Bleeding is normal in a sense. It doesn't happen on all displays and it varies in intensity from one display to the next.

But sitting in a totally dark room with the screen turned black isn't a fair test. Put something on the screen and turn a light on in the room. If you still have a problem, get a new monitor. I'm guessing the display will look more than good enough if somthing's on it and the room is lit a little.

Remember, old CRTs used to have back-scattering and blooming requiring the luminance be turned way down for use in a dark room.
