hey all,
i got a question about Vista SP1
at the begining, Microsoft told us that a Service Pack for Vista was not going to be released . only updates and patches via Windows Updates.
now im asking , because its kinda bothering me since i heard about the SP1, is it going to free??because i baught Vista Ultimate , and frankly , $400 is a pretty good rip off from microsoft!so im really hoping microsoft wont make it a commercial product for owners of Vista, or at least the Ultimate's owners... what do you guys think? (sorry for my english if there is any mistakes, im french)

Currently, MS expects to release it via Update (free to current users), but they will change the DVDs that they will sell to include the the SP1 after the release date.

Ok So for example ; i will not need to pay a dime for SP1 right? i already have Vista Ultimate as my OS.
it ll be downloadable via Windows Updates.... i bet its gonna weight a lot!!! its going to take like forever to download!!
but in the end im glad i wont be paying for SP1 cause frankly , $400 for an OS(ultimate) ;;;;anyway;;; i hpe your right pkellmey!!!
we just have to wait now!!!

Microsoft has never charged for service packs. Why does everyone think that they are going to start now?

I dont know,it was just a thought, i mean going as far as $400 for an OS they could be capable of everythinh lol

anyway i feel relieved....
btw do you guys know approximatly how heavy the download is going to be? are we talking MB or GB?
