Virtual machine not working because of cpu kernal

"This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU."
How do I change my kernel? BTW I have a ryzen 3 1300x

Is virtualization enabled in your BIOS?

I was trying to set up a vm and when ever I boot it up it keeps giving me an error saying "This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU."
BTW I am using a ryzen 3 1300x.

Yep, what USAFret said. You need to enable Virtualization in your BIOS, it's not on by default.
