Hi,

My pc has 8 gb ram, from which 6.95 gb is usable due to onboard integrated graphics. I wish to resize my my virtual memory. So how do I calculate the lower limit?
is it-

1. (Total memory) x 1024 x 1.5 i.e. 8 x 1024 x 1.5 mb ?

or

2. (Usable memory) x 1024 x 1.5 i.e. 6.95 x 1024 x 1.5 mb ?

Which one should I go for?

Solution
If you want to follow this ancient formula then go with the ram you can use.
Although these days having 16Gb total is more than enough for anything you might do even for an extreme user.

But you should really look into why your iGPU blocks off 1Gb all the time even when it is not using it,usually you put in an upper limit for the iGPU into the bios and it only uses up to that but it start off with a very low usage.
