Hello.
I'm running Win 7 and have a virtual network with Server 2003 and a virtual client running Win XP.

The client keeps coming up with the 169 IP address. I can't seem to get these two together.

I have the client set to obtain IP addresss automatically along with the DNS server. What the hell am I doing wrong?
This is my first attempt at this which is why "they" told me to put this together.

Thanks in advance.

Is it a bridged connection? If so, I would look at your DHCP server. That would be my guess. Act as if it is its own physical machine that isn't getting a DHCP address.
