Virus software only or hardware....

Ok guys help me out with this i made my first pc. And thank god i dont have any viruses ...yet hopefully never, but lets say i do get a virus...where does it latches onto?
I assume it goes to ur windows system?

But lets say u do get a virus, can you remove it by simple removing windows os and fresh installing it?

Or does the virus actually manages to latches itself onto hardware....which seems like a stretch but some idiot said that on a youtube post.

It's on the hard drive not in the hardware.
Get a anti-virus for your safety and to protect your information.

Then can u delete everything including os in ur harddrive and fresh install tht would remove thw virus wouldnt it?

Not just delete it but you can reformat it and start over but you would be starting over and loose everything on your drive and with a lot of viruses you can loose vital information about yourself and never know you have a virus.
