Vista 64-bit - 12GB of Ram

So I just upgraded from 6GB to 12GB of ram, Vista is only displaying 8gb...
is this like the 4gb on 32-bit issue? what's going on

What version of Vista 64? Home Basic is limited to 8 GB.

Ultimate, but it's also an employee edition (my aunt who works for MS gave this to me). There's a sticker on the front it says Microsoft Company Store Purchase (not to be sold), Purchased by (employee number).

You'll have to find out through your aunt if an employee edition can address more than 8 GB of memory.

in msconfig you can define a memory max. Is this the case?
